On the rear, you get Samsung’s usual ribbed casing, with the ports built into the set rather than running through the external connections box found on more premium sets. When it comes to ports, the NU7100 packs in three HDMI 2.0 (one with ARC), two USB, Ethernet, Common Interface, and an optical output for external hi-fi setups.
Samsung has resisted the temptation to embrace HDMI 2.1, claiming the current 2.0b inputs do all that is needed of them. That might disappoint some, but the company claims the Q70 can handle 4K at up to 120Hz, dynamic metadata (HDR10+), variable refresh rate (VRR), and auto low latency mode (ALLM). The only thing missing is enhanced audio return channel (eARC), but Samsung says that will be coming via a software update by the end of the month.
Sony 49-inch Class X800E Series 4K Ultra HD HDR Android LED TV (XBR49X800E) — $585 (list price $898)
Now let’s talk about the TV itself — it’s a 50-inch 4K model in Samsung’s eight-month-old NU7100 Series that’s armed with all the features you’d expect to find on a 4K TV, including an upscale engine that can morph standard HD content into 4K Ultra HD.
The Q60R is a well-built 4K TV though we think the 2018 Q6F was better looking and slightly sturdier. In terms of physical shape, this TV is extremely similar to the Q6FN except that instead of a silvery metallic body with metal supporting legs, it’s made entirely out of plastic and comes with polished plastic leg supports. That said, the Q60 is very sturdy, feels solid and holds itself up just fine. Connectivity ports are all along the back of the television and no external One Connect or One Connect mini box is included with the Q60 QLED edition (the 2018 Q6FN did indeed have a One Connect mini box though). The bezels along the edge of the Q60’s screen are fairly thin and because they’re also black, watching the TV in a dimly lit or unlit room creates the nice visual effect of making the edge design seem invisible.
The full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports enable 8K to be delivered to the TV in up to 60Hz, rather than it being limited to 30Hz on the ‘HDMI 2.0 with some HDMI 2.1 features’ set up carried by the original Q900Rs.
Prices for half-finished, "open-cell" LCD panels without backlights and other parts settled around $41 for large-lot sales in February, little changed from the previous month. Prices have stopped dropping after four consecutive months of declines through January.

Motion Pro was also introduced in 2018, and this feature literally inserts black frames, improving motion but darkening the image and sometimes causing flicker. LG has made improvements, reducing both the loss of light and the flicker. As a result it’s now a useful feature, especially with standard dynamic range content (SDR) where the darker picture can be brightened.
I will add that if you are a hard-core gamer who plays the same game for many hours at a time for days or even months on end, or if you are the type who watches the same news or weather channel for several hours at a time, day after day, then an OLED TV is not for you, regardless of whether it is made by LG or another brand.

Delivering high-quality video and audio content to a massive number of users is no easy task, and there are likely significant infrastructure blockades that keep HBO from hitting the same picture and sound quality as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video (which also offers Dolby Atmos, 4K and Dolby Vision HDR).
