And if you don’t want your viewing tracked, viewers can go to the menu settings and turn off ACR (which is supposed to be off by default anyway.) Or, they can go a few steps further and turn the Wi-Fi off on the set altogether.

Also coming later this year is support for Apple’s AirPlay 2 system, letting the TV function as a display for TV shows, movies, photos and web pages with an iPhone, iPad or Mac as the controller, and for HomeKit, which will let you control the TV using Apple’s Home app or by talking to Apple’s assistant Siri. The Apple features are similar to those coming to 2019 Vizio and Sony TVs, while the full Apple TV app will launch first on Samsung TVs.

Samsung’s Q90s also introduce new gaming features, including automatic picture and sound optimization, and a mode for raising the brightness of dark areas without affecting the look of bright areas (so that it’s easier to spot enemies lurking in the shadows). 

Smart TV TL;DR: It might be lower down the range but you’ll still find the same the same state-of-the-art smart platform that includes iTunes, Universal Guide, and Bixby voice assistant here as you would on the flagship screens.
