WebOS has several built-in features outside of streaming apps. A channel guide shows you what’s on TV, either OTA with an antenna or cable or satellite with a connected box. The LG Channels feature adds free streaming Internet TV channels like Shout! TV and Mashable, all of which can be integrated into the guide alongside the conventional channels. A web browser loads websites on the TV, and is fairly easy to use thanks to the air mouse function of the Magic Remote. The C9 also supports screen sharing over Miracast, and offers a Gallery mode that rotates works of art or photos on the screen.
"We’re moving slowly towards 8K TVs at the end of the decade and who knows how long it will take to get beyond that, so 16K is likely to be limited to the corporate world for the time being," commented David Mercer from the consultancy Strategy Analytics.
But don’t just settle on the lowest price or the least expensive based on the size you want. If you’re investing several hundred dollars into a set that will become the centerpiece of your living room or the thing all your furniture is pointed at, then you want to buy something that will last for a very long time. Bad smart platforms, poor contrast, easily breakable stands, and more can bring your TVs to an early end. We don’t want that to happen to you, and that’s why we’re not interested in the bad TVs that are inexpensive because they’re bad. And you shouldn’t be either.
Following their announcement at CES in January, Sony has announced pricing for its OLED and LCD TVs for 2019. The lineup includes Sony’s first ever 8K LCD TV, the Z9G, which will cost between $12,999.99 for the 85-inch model, and a whopping $69,999.99 for the 98-inch version. Also included in the lineup are the Master Series A9G and cheaper A8G OLED TVs, starting at $3,499.99 and $2,499.99 respectively, and a trio of 4K LCD TVs — the X950G, X850G, and X800G — starting at $1,399.99, $3,499.99, and $649.99.

Unless you see a Lightning Deal or Deal of the Day offer on a product you want in the run up to Black Friday itself, we recommend holding your horses until Nov. 29 to buy that long-hankered for item, as this is when the big discounts really come out to play.
The Mi TV 4A 50 features a 50-inch (3840×2160 pixels) 4K UHD display with HDR10+ HLG, 60Hz refresh rate, and a 178-degree viewing angle.
The full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports enable 8K to be delivered to the TV in up to 60Hz, rather than it being limited to 30Hz on the ‘HDMI 2.0 with some HDMI 2.1 features’ set up carried by the original Q900Rs.
It’s also decked out with Samsung’s Smart TV software that’s home to a number of top-tier streaming services, including Amazon Prime Video, Google Play Movies, Hulu, Netflix, and YouTube — eliminating the need for an Apple TV or Chromecast.
The Toshiba Fire TV delivers some of its strongest qualities in this broad category of crucial display specs. They are what make many of the TV’s other much weaker specs look much better as a result. Specifically, the black levels and black uniformity of the LF621U19 are excellent or at least very good. We’ve seen better in other almost equally affordable ultra HD TVs but for its incredibly low price, the Toshiba Fire is really great at creating deep, strong black levels that are remarkably uniform throughout. In other words, the amount of light bleed leading to display clouding during very dark scenes is quite low and the actual black level sits very high with a luminosity during deep blacks that’s only slightly above 0.023 nits. Additionally, the TV comes with excellent contrast that sits comfortably above or around 5030:1. We’ve seen better from a number of other low-cost 4K HDR TVs such as the TCL 6-Series and Samsung’s NU7100 but again, over 5000:1 is great by any measure and particularly so in such an affordable 4K UHD TV as the Toshiba Fire LF621U19. What’s notable here is that (as we’ll cover just a bit further down) the LF621U19 isn’t a particularly bright 4K HDR TV but still manages to get saved by its great contrast.
