Because of these issues, the LF621U19 isn’t a particularly great television choice for use in brightly lit spaces and when it comes to HDR movie playback from sources like Netflix, it pretty much fails at the job when it comes to highlighting HDR content luminosity. Oddly though, the contrast ratio isn’t much affected by the Toshiba Fire TV’s screen brightness woes, simply because its excellent black levels do a lot to save the situation here.

So, what makes the 65-inch LG 65UK6300PUE 4K TV a good pick? Well, aside from featuring a crisp LED screen that’s sharp and has a fantastic default color profile out of the box, it has just about every feature you could ever need from a TV.

Both TVs are quite bright for OLEDs, though they can’t reach the blazing brightness of high-end LED-backlit LCD TVs like the Sony Master Series Z9F and its 1,677.49cd/m2 peak brightness with the same 18-percent field. Of course, LCDs still can’t reach the perfect black levels of either OLED TV, which give both the C9 and E9P "infinite" contrast.

Place the Daiwa TV remote control and the Shinco TV remote control next to one another and if the logos were removed, you wouldn’t be able to tell one from the other. That is because the manufacturer of the TV is the same company. Just like the Daiwa TV, we reviewed, the Shinco remote control has functions on both sides. On one side you have a traditional remote control with functions like power, number pad, source, settings along with shortcuts for YouTube and Netflix. The other side of the remote is a full QWERTY keypad. This is extremely helpful when logging into services like Netflix or Prime Videos (the native apps on the TVs OS). As mentioned above, those services are the mobile version because the TV runs on AOSP so the login process can get quite cumbersome. The QWERTY layout of the remote control is a little wider than I’d like but that’s the compromise of having a 2-in-1 setup. The buttons are rubbery and require you to press them down with some force which is a good thing. This ensures you don’t accidentally press the wrong key when using the other side of the remote control.

This LED piece features built-in Fire TV that provides access to all of the most popular streaming and entertainment platforms. It also comes with a voice-controlled remote connecting you and your other smart home devices with Alexa. Shoppers also love its quick and easy setup and impressive picture quality.

Being newer than than the 43UK6300PUE, the 70-inch UK6190 Series does a better job at upscaling content, too. It also has a superior multi-format HDR standard, which factors both HDR10 and HLG with LG’s advanced tone mapping tech to extract more detail from darker scenes.

Overall Picture Performance The overall picture quality of the Toshiba Fire 4K TV is not stellar, but neither is it terrible. For example, this 4K TV performs almost identically to Samsung’s NU7100 while costing a decent amount less. Furthermore, the Toshiba Fire is a much better performer at key display specs than any of LG’s low-priced 2018 LCD 4K TVs and it’s cheaper than most of them too. Thus, you-re getting plenty of decent quality in this model even if few of the specific display specs are excellent. The 4K resolution looks as fantastic as it ever does for any native ultra HD content you watch on the Toshiba Fire, and this TV’s upscaling engine is great at making 1080p and 720p content look much better than it normally would. Furthermore, while the Toshiba Fire lacks really robust HDR chops, it does deliver some very decent color reproduction partly due to its 10-bit color capability and spices this up even further by being genuinely strong at black level uniformity and at contrast.

But when both TVs are so gorgeous, it does make you wonder if its actually worth investing a minimum of $10,000 for an 8K at this point in the game (and over $17,000 if you want the big daddy 82-inch).

The Samsung NU7100 is competitively priced, and with a fantastic picture for the sub-$500 market. If you’re angling for a curved display, though, the NU7300 has pretty identical specs, and may tempt you away. 

According to our readers, Kodak customer support is not great and that they need to improve; otherwise in our short usage, we didn’t find anything worth to be mentioned as Con.
