In addition to new art, the latest Frame TV models feature Samsung’s QLED technology, which provides deeper blacks and better color contrast than ever.

Another great performer with a more manageable price-tag. The LG OLED 55B7V is capable of delivering vibrant colours, deep blacks and excellent sharpness, in addition to increased brightness which positively impacts its HDR performance, which is very good for the money. Speaking of HDR, the 55B7V boasts support for HDR10, HLG, Technicolorâs Advanced HDR and Dolby Vision, making it as close to future-proof as youâre likely to get right now. If you switch the set to gaming mode youâll also get a latency of around 21ms for both 4K HDR and 1080P, which is a solid score for a TV at this price point. The TVâs smart features come courtesy of WebOS, which has proven its worth as a TV OS time and again, and youâll get dedicated Netflix and Amazon buttons on the remote.
In the meantime, the OLED C9 sets another staggeringly high bar for image quality. Once again, it’s up to the rest of the TV market to try to reach it.
The Samsung Q60 delivers all of the above fairly well but not exceptionally. Its black levels are decent but because there is no local dimming in this 4K HDR TV, some clouding shows itself in darker rooms across a fully darkened screen. For the same reason, bright, specific content (like white letters) displayed in a dark background can also have a slight halo of light around it.
In basic terms, the above means that while the Q60R doesn’t do a bad job at being bright enough for normal non-HDR content of all kinds, as an HDR TV it isn’t all that great in terms of brightness (though its color performance, contrast, black levels and other HDR features are pretty good). None of these things mean that the Q60R will offer bad picture quality, but they do mean that compared to most other similarly priced or even cheaper 4K HDR TVs from competitors, or even most of Samsung’s own similarly priced 2018 HDR TVs, the Q60 delivers noticeably dimmer picture performance during crucial moments of brightness.
The Huawei P20 Lite features a 5.84 inch display with 2280×1080 resolution, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It also as a microSD card slot, dual rear cameras at 16MP and 2MP, a single front 16MP camera and a 3000mAh battery.
In the past, the industry had urged the government to reduce GST rate to 18 per cent for upto 43 inches sized TVs. Currently, about 65 per cent of the TV market comprises of sizes ranging from 80 cm (32 inches) to 142 cm (43 inches), as per industry estimates.
The set is available at Walmart for $649.99, down from $998. To put things into perspective, a 65in 4K Samsung QLED TV such as the QN65Q8FN costs more than triple that. You’re right to be intrigued.
Moving on to HDR performance, LG showcased a highlight reel of glossy imagery featuring colorful liquids, glasses, and dripping honey. While performance was similarly strong on both displays, the SM9500 offered just a bit more punch in its highlights without losing detail, particularly on the shining portions of the glass. It wasn’t a night and day difference, mind you, but the NanoCell did seem to edge out the QLED’s brightness here.
For those after a truly home cinema experience, you’ll be looking at a 55, 65, or 75-inch television. These sets are the best for entertaining large groups or families, watching football and sports matches on the big screen, and getting the full impact of 4K Ultra HD movies and DVDs.
